CHRISTOPHER MICSAK

Chief Strategy Officer

A seasoned investment professional with experience across the global energy, natural resource, and infrastructure value chains, Chris Micsak has joined Caliche’s leadership to help it prepare for the next stage of growth. Chris’s background includes experiences in trading, consulting, infrastructure development and capital allocation across the energy value chain.

In addition to his role for Caliche, Chris serves as Board Chairman for Royal Eagle Renewable Energy, providing strategic leadership on solar and battery storage projects in Colombia and Mexico.

Chris was previously a Director at Pickering Energy Partners (“PEP”), where he helped to build consulting teams in energy and energy transition activities. Earlier in his career, Chris served as a Director at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. Asset Management (“TPH”), where he was part of a team that managed a ~$300 million private equity co-investment strategy. During his tenure at TPH, he was seconded to their largest investor (the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, “TRS”) for one year on their Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure ("ENRI") team, where together they invested ~$1 billion across infrastructure assets globally.

Chris first began working as a fundamentals analyst at BENTEK Energy (now part of S&P). During his time there, he advised on several consulting projects for Haddington Ventures, who eventually recruited him (Fun fact: this is where he and Caliche CEO Dave Marchese met!).

Outside of his professional involvements, Chris is the founder of The Noodist, a unique culinary venture inspired by his time studying noodle-making at a trade school in Lanzhou, China. He is the only American certified by the Chinese government to make and teach hand-pulled noodles. Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with Honors in Asian Studies from Colgate University and has studied at the Beijing Institute of Education.
