Michael Salinas joins Caliche with over 25 years of experience as a “Big Four” CPA and corporate controller, and with extensive operations and financial responsibilities. He oversees Caliche’s high-level accounting duties and assists the company’s CFO, David Saindon, in various financial related activities.
Previously, Michael led the finance departments of several mid-sized, private equity-backed companies. Prior to that, he served as controller and treasurer for Wood Group Kenny, Inc. for 12 years, where he supported the financial management sales growth of a single U.S.-based company to an international, multi-office oil and gas engineering group. In this role, he developed new office processes and procedures, and supported senior management in improving profit margins, cost efficiencies and financial reporting. Michael has also worked in other industries, including chemical and steel manufacturing, and high-tech software and products distribution (e.g., Hagemeyer, United Rentals, Shell Chemical).
Michael began his career as an auditor for KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with accounting honors and is a member of the Texas Society of CPA’s, AICPA and CGMA organizations. He recently served as the financial and fundraising chairman of his civic association and financial deacon of his church.
