Michael Salinas rejoins Caliche with 30 years of experience as a “Big Four” CPA and corporate controller, and with extensive operations and financial responsibilities. He oversees Caliche’s high-level accounting duties and assists the company’s CFO, David Saindon, in various financial related activities. Michael previously served as Caliche’s controller during its first iteration and partnership with Energy Spectrum Capital.
Prior to Caliche, Michael led the finance departments of several mid-sized, private equity-backed companies. He also held controller and treasurer roles for Wood Group Kenny, Inc. for 12 years, where he supported the financial management sales growth of a single U.S.-based company to an international, multi-office oil and gas engineering group. During his tenure there, he developed new office processes and procedures, and supported senior management in improving profit margins, cost efficiencies and financial reporting. Michael has worked in other industries as well, including chemical and steel manufacturing, and high-tech software and products distribution (e.g., Hagemeyer, United Rentals, Shell Chemical).
Michael began his career as an auditor for KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with accounting honors and is a member of the Texas Society of CPA’s, AICPA and CGMA organizations. He is an avid tennis player and enjoys numerous activities with family and friends.
